About Me
Amber Marshall, MSW, Ph.D

Hi there! Welcome to Abounding Hope! Successful counseling requires a mutual respect and relational connection with your counselor. It's vital that you know and trust your counselor. So, here's a little about me!

I received my Bachelor and Master of Social Work degrees from the University of Georgia in 2002. Go Dawgs! (Please don't hold that against me!) In 2023, I completed my Ph.D. in Clinical Christian Counseling though Jacksonville Theological Seminary with advanced certification in the areas of Marriage and Family and Grief and Loss counseling. My counseling accreditation and licensing is with the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA). Clinical Christian counselors are provided an exemption from state licensure in Florida to offer clinical care within a Biblical framework. This exemption provides freedom to use the Bible and prayer in our sessions, which are both vital to restoring hope and healing to the wounded soul.

I have a diverse background with the Department of Children and Families, school social work, serving in ministry with the local churches, teaching, and leading as the Director of Social Services for a private adoption agency. I've worked with and counseled children and families in the secular and church setting for over 15 years. My education, work, and life experiences have equipped me and stirred a passion in my heart to encourage others in their life journey.

My husband and I have been married nearly twenty years and have eleven children together, including one special girl with an incredibly rare chromosomal abnormality. (Yes, I gave birth to all of them!) As a family, we have experienced the ups and downs of marriage and relationships, the loss of income and our livelihood, the pain of miscarriages, loss of loved ones, along with the many joys life brings our way.
